You can use many different types of devices to access
Omni-fi™'s
wireless network, as long as they are Wi-Fi
enabled. Some of those devices include:
OMNIFITV VOIP
- Laptops
- PDA's
- Cell Phones
- Desktop Computers
- Automobiles
- Gaming Devices
- MP3 Players
- Cameras
Making Your Device Wi -Fi Enabled
If your laptop, PDA or other device is not Wi-Fi
enabled, you can purchase additional hardware to enable it. Please check with
the manufacturer of the device to ensure it is compatible.
Increasing Your Wi-Fi
Access Range
Depending on where you are located in the Hot Zone, you may need to increase
your Wi-Fi devices antenna range to access the Hot
Zone. Wi-Fi devices communicate with each other
using Radio Frequency and require antennas. Most cards come with the antenna
built in, others have them as attachments and can
operate well over 1000 feet. Most Wi-Fi devices
should be at least 500 feet from one of our antennas. If you are not getting
a good signal in our Hot Zone, you may need to purchase an add-on antenna or
buy a higher end Wi-Fi card.

How Do I Configure My Device?
Although most devices will automatically configure your system for our
network, there are some key settings that you must make sure you set.
1. Set your wireless adapter to "Obtain an IP Address". Never setup
an IP address for our network. The Hot Zone will automatically assign your
system one.
2. Set your wireless device to use the SSID "omnifi".
Do not include the apostrophes. Most devices will allow you to select from a
list of available wireless networks.
